Mumbai, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag recently clarified a common misconception about his playing style, stating that he did not always adopt an aggressive approach. Speaking at a promotional event for the streaming reality show “Rise and Fall” at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, Sehwag explained that he adjusted his batting style based on the match conditions and requirements.
During the discussion, Sehwag highlighted that he had also played defensively and faced challenging situations throughout his career. “It’s not true that I always played aggressively. I have also played in a defensive manner and in negative environments,” he remarked.
Sehwag, along with Sachin Tendulkar, formed one of the most explosive opening partnerships in cricket history. The duo consistently provided strong starts for Team India, significantly contributing to many victories with their batting prowess.
When asked about handling competitors with different temperaments on “Rise and Fall,” Sehwag noted that he has some experience in this area, having faced a variety of players and opponents during his cricketing journey. “I have dealt with undisciplined players in opposing teams. However, every day, we encounter different personalities—some aggressive, some humble, and others who may express anger. We must manage all types of individuals,” he explained.
Sehwag emphasized the importance of understanding each competitor’s nature rather than treating everyone the same way. He acknowledged that some may require a gentle approach, while others might need a reprimand or even a stern conversation. “I will try to identify how I can manage them. It’s a bit challenging, but life without challenges wouldn’t be enjoyable,” he added.
In the second season of “Rise and Fall,” Sehwag takes on the role of host, succeeding Ashneer Grover from the first season. The reality series features 15 contestants competing over 42 days, focusing on power dynamics, strategy, alliances, and evolving equations. Contestants are divided into “Rulers” and “Workers,” with the former controlling the game from a tower while the latter reside in a basement, seeking opportunities to improve their standing.
This season introduces a new element of audience participation, allowing viewers to influence who becomes a “Ruler” or a “Worker.”
