Kolkata, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Kolkata witnessed a stir as West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh responded to reports of vandalism at Abhishek Banerjee’s office. He stated that if such incidents occurred, they should be treated as law and order issues. Ghosh urged that complaints should be filed with the police to ensure proper action is taken.
During a conversation, Ghosh highlighted the prevalence of vandalism in various locations. He stressed the importance of trusting the police, noting that past mismanagement had eroded public confidence in law enforcement. “People must approach the police and file complaints. The police will take action,” he asserted.
He further clarified that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not seized any party offices. Many of these establishments were allegedly built illegally on government or private land. Ghosh pointed out that the BJP did not occupy the state headquarters, emphasizing that the party had acted within legal boundaries by removing illegal structures and restoring rightful ownership.
Ghosh criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming she has failed to resolve issues over her 15-year tenure, instead creating new problems and fostering division among the populace. He remarked on the current flood situation, suggesting that solutions should have been implemented sooner. “Our government aims to address the root causes of problems, and the people will see benefits in the coming years,” he added.
He also noted that Banerjee’s public engagements are poorly attended, indicating a loss of support. “She has to resort to live broadcasts on Facebook to communicate with the public. This will not yield results,” Ghosh remarked. He observed that many local leaders, including councilors and legislators, have fled the state amid corruption allegations, with police actively pursuing them to uphold the law.
Ghosh concluded by reiterating the need for accountability and transparency in governance as the state faces ongoing challenges.
