New Delhi, July 19: BJP National Spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala addressed various issues, stating that the success of Vikram-1 is a historic achievement for India’s space sector, startup ecosystem, and youth power. He emphasized that while the opposition attempts to downplay the nation’s accomplishments, this milestone stands as a testament to India’s capabilities.
In response to Syed Arshad Madani‘s remarks, Poonawala criticized certain organizations and individuals who, he claimed, make statements merely to secure Rajya Sabha tickets from Congress. He highlighted the historical context of communal riots during Congress rule, which resulted in significant loss of life in the Muslim community, indicating that praising such a party reflects political self-interest.
Poonawala described the successful launch of the Vikram-1 rocket as a historic moment for India. It marks the first time the private sector has successfully launched an orbital rocket, showcasing that both ISRO and India’s private space sector have achieved global standards. This accomplishment highlights the strength of India’s youth, technological prowess, and entrepreneurial spirit. India now joins the ranks of a select few nations with such capabilities. He argued that the success of Vikram-1 serves as a strong rebuttal to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s persistent skepticism regarding the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the startup ecosystem.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, Poonawala accused those who claimed to advocate for change of engaging in vindictive politics. He pointed out that promises of educational reform have not materialized, and instead, Punjab has become plagued by substance abuse. He claimed that law and order in the state has deteriorated under their governance.
Poonawala referenced the Delhi riots, specifically mentioning the case of IB officer Ankit Sharma, where Tahir Hussain was found guilty. He criticized some AAP leaders for publicly supporting the accused and attempting to frame the issue along religious lines. He asserted that AAP has consistently defended criminals and rioters, raising questions about their governance in Punjab.
In his critique of Congress, Poonawala stated that the party has continuously disrespected Indian culture, eternal traditions, and the Sanskrit language. He accused Congress of being influenced by foreign ideologies rather than respecting Indian heritage. Citing a past statement by Rahul Gandhi, he argued that Congress maintains a negative outlook towards Indian institutions. Poonawala claimed that derogatory comments about Sanskrit and Indian cultural heritage are an affront to Indian identity.
He concluded by asserting that under Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership, India is achieving new milestones in science, technology, startups, and the space sector. Government policies have opened up opportunities for the private sector in space programs, culminating in historic successes like Vikram-1. Today, India is carving out a new identity in the global arena of technology and innovation, reflecting the potential of its youth and the effectiveness of government policies.
