Vijay Wadettiwar Criticizes NEET Exam Center Allocation, Questions Governments Commitment to Education

Nagpur, June 20: Senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has launched a sharp attack on the re-NEET and exam center allocation system. He raised concerns about the central government and the education system following the allocation of an exam center in Abu Dhabi to a student from Nagpur. Wadettiwar also commented on the current political climate, the unity of opposition parties, and the politics of defection.

Responding to the allocation of the Abu Dhabi center for NEET, Wadettiwar stated that if the country cannot conduct exams properly, all students should be assigned centers abroad. “If we cannot organize this exam properly in Maharashtra or anywhere in India, then let’s just assign all students to Abu Dhabi. Fly them there. There should be some shame,” he remarked.

Wadettiwar accused the government of undermining the education system and showing no concern for students’ futures. He asserted that the government’s only priority is to retain power. “They want to ruin the education system. They have no worries about the future of children,” he said. He criticized Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, suggesting that he should resign due to the moral responsibility following such incidents.

Wadettiwar also responded to Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s statement, which claimed that anyone who associates with Rahul Gandhi ends up ruined. He emphasized that political circumstances are always changing and commenting on someone’s misfortune is inappropriate. “Today, someone may be having a bad day, but that shouldn’t be a reason to criticize them. Everyone experiences good and bad days in politics,” he noted.

Referring to controversial comments made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut regarding rebel leaders, Wadettiwar mentioned the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution (anti-defection law) and stated that the current situation overlooks the fundamental spirit of the Constitution. He warned against the systematic effort to weaken opposition parties and break them apart, which poses a dangerous threat to democracy.

Wadettiwar claimed that the concept of ‘One Nation, One Election’ also reflects a mindset aimed at weakening opposition parties. He warned that if all opposition parties are eliminated, democracy will weaken, leading the country towards a one-party system. He urged the youth to step forward to protect democracy and constitutional institutions, highlighting their crucial role in the current scenario.

Regarding ongoing speculation about a split in the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Wadettiwar responded that only time will reveal who will leave or stay in the party. He noted that there seems to be a mindset among some individuals to eliminate all parties and establish just one.
