Vibrant Village Initiative Transforms Mana: A New Era of Development in Uttarakhand

Chamoli, July 29: The border village of Mana in Uttarakhand, located near the India-Tibet border, is now writing a new chapter in development. Under the central government’s Vibrant Village Initiative, there is a special focus on the comprehensive development of border areas. This initiative has accelerated various projects related to roads, electricity, water supply, communication, tourism, and employment, leading to positive changes in the lives of local residents.

Mana village holds significant strategic importance. For a long time, residents faced challenges in accessing basic amenities. However, through government initiatives, infrastructure is being strengthened. The goal of the Vibrant Village Initiative is to provide better facilities in border villages while creating new employment and livelihood opportunities for local residents.

Efforts are underway to improve road connectivity, enhance electricity supply, expand drinking water facilities, and make telecommunication services more accessible in Mana village. The development of these facilities is providing villagers with greater convenience for their daily needs.

Given the tourism potential of Mana, the local economy is also gaining strength. Its proximity to Badrinath Dham attracts a large number of tourists and pilgrims. The increasing influx of visitors is promoting home stays, local handicrafts, small businesses, and other self-employment activities, thereby providing new income sources for villagers.

Local resident Rajendra Maulfa shared, “Many development projects are underway in the village under the Vibrant Village Initiative. An Arrival Plaza is being constructed to accommodate the large number of tourists visiting Mana, ensuring their comfort. Additionally, restoration work is ongoing at the Mata Temple, which will also boost religious tourism.”

He added, “The development of nearby religious and natural sites, including the confluence of the Alaknanda and Saraswati rivers, is strengthening Mana’s identity. These projects will further increase tourism and employment opportunities in the village.”

The central government’s Vibrant Village Initiative is not limited to development projects alone; it aims to improve the living standards of people in border areas and curb migration. The government’s effort is to expand facilities in border villages so that residents can enjoy a better life and employment opportunities while staying in their villages.
