Mumbai, May 24: Actor Vedang Raina is excited about the release of his upcoming film “Main Wapas Aaunga.” Amidst preparations and promotions, he shared insights into the unique directing style of Imtiaz Ali. Raina noted that Ali has a distinctive approach to helping actors understand their characters in a profound and effective manner.
In a recent conversation, Raina explained that Imtiaz Ali employs a special technique to immerse his actors completely into their character’s mindset.
He stated, “His process is unique. He had a clear idea about my character, ‘Kino.’ He repeatedly reminded me, ‘Don’t think before you speak.’ My character tends to speak without thinking, which is quite different from my own nature. Imtiaz sir instilled this thought in my mind and allowed it to develop naturally.”
Raina also shared an interesting anecdote. He recalled, “During rehearsals, when I was talking to Sharvari, Imtiaz sir approached me and said, ‘I’m very happy that you two have opened up to each other. I noticed you were speaking without overthinking.’ Perhaps the character was beginning to change me from within. This is Imtiaz sir’s method—he helps actors dive deep into their characters.”
In “Main Wapas Aaunga,” alongside Vedang Raina, the film features Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharvari in key roles. The film explores the depths of relationships, emotions, and excitement.
Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, with Mohit Chaudhary and Shibasish Sarkar also on board as producers, the film is set to release in theaters on June 12, distributed worldwide by Birla Studios.
