Guiyang, August 29: The 2026 China International Big Data Expo (CIBDE) officially opened on Friday in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province in southwest China. This year’s theme is “Token: A New Path for Value Creation from Data Elements.”
During the expo, the National Data Administration of China will unveil significant outcomes in areas such as tokens, data annotation, data infrastructure, and digital talent development.
This professional exhibition showcases cutting-edge technologies and their practical applications across five major sectors: computing infrastructure, data supply, model operation, security, and intelligent experiences. Additionally, the “China Data Industry Development Report (2026)” was released at the event.
According to the report, the size of China’s data industry reached 67.8 trillion yuan in 2025, marking a 15.7% annual growth compared to 2024. By the end of 2025, the number of data-related enterprises in the country had risen to 482,000, a 17.9% increase from the previous year. Investments in large language models, simulation-based synthetic data, and embedded AI data services have also seen a consistent rise.
As of August 2026, over 126,000 high-quality datasets have been prepared in the country, with a total data size exceeding 1,815 PB. These figures reflect the rapid and continuous growth of China’s data industry.
The expo will be open to the public from August 28 to 30.
