Haridwar, March 7: The Uttarakhand government, led by the BJP, celebrated four years in office with a special event in Haridwar on Saturday, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the gathering, highlighting that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the glory of Sanatan culture resonates globally, positioning India firmly on the path to becoming a world leader once again.
Dhami emphasized that a historic step has been taken towards realizing the dream of “One India, Great India” through the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act, which grants rights and protection to long-overlooked Hindu refugees. He noted that the abolition of colonial-era laws reflects a commitment to justice, aligning new legislation with Indian values.
Before 2014, many countries viewed India as weak, but today, under Modi’s guidance, the world recognizes India’s strength. By successfully hosting various global conferences, India has established a strong presence on the world stage.
The government has created extensive employment opportunities for the youth, propelling Uttarakhand to the forefront among Indian states. The state has been recognized as an “Achiever” in the Ease of Doing Business and a “Leader” in Startup rankings. Additionally, Uttarakhand achieved first place in the Sustainable Development Goals index for 2023-24, as per the NITI Aayog.
Dhami stated that efforts are ongoing to preserve the state’s rich culture while maintaining its original character. Inspired by Amit Shah, Uttarakhand has implemented a Uniform Civil Code, becoming the first state in the country to do so.
Referring to the G-20 summit, Dhami noted that Uttarakhand witnessed its first national sports event, where local athletes set new records by winning the most medals. The government also initiated winter tourism to promote year-round travel. Over the past four years, the state’s economy has grown more than one and a half times, with a recorded 7.23% increase in GSDP and a remarkable 41% rise in per capita income.
During the Global Investors Summit in 2023, investment agreements worth ₹3.56 lakh crore were signed. The government successfully implemented ₹1 lakh crore in investment agreements through various initiatives, guided by Amit Shah.
Dhami remarked that under Shah’s leadership, the country has effectively curbed disruptive forces like terrorism and Naxalism. Areas once plagued by unrest are now setting new benchmarks for peace, development, and prosperity.
The strategic vision and organizational skills of PM Modi and Amit Shah have led to the BJP being granted another opportunity to serve the people of Uttarakhand, breaking old myths in the process.
