Farmers in Ghazipur Celebrate Release of PM-Kisans 22nd Installment

Ghazipur, March 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the release of the 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme on Friday from Guwahati. This installment has transferred over ₹18,640 crores directly into the bank accounts of more than 9.3 crore farmer families across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Following the announcement, beneficiary farmers in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, expressed their joy. They had been eagerly awaiting this financial support. Farmers stated that this amount would help them cover expenses related to seeds and irrigation, making the scheme highly beneficial for them.

The event at the Agricultural Science Center in Ghazipur was graced by Municipal Chairperson Sarita Agarwal as the chief guest. She emphasized the usefulness of this financial aid for farmers, noting that while the amount may seem small to some, it is significantly helpful for the poor and vulnerable farmers.

Beneficiary farmers shared their happiness with a news agency. Farmer Anju Chaturvedi mentioned that the central government’s initiative provides substantial relief. The funds received are primarily used for purchasing fertilizers and seeds. She added that farmers across the nation are congratulating Prime Minister Modi on the release of this installment, although some who have yet to register are feeling anxious. The department is currently assisting with their registrations.

Farmer Vidyanath Chaube noted that those who have registered as farmers are benefiting from the scheme. This financial support strengthens their economic position and ensures timely access to fertilizers and seeds for their crops.

Om Prakash Singh, an FPO operator, stated that although the amount may be modest, it aids farmers in arranging timely supplies of fertilizers, seeds, and irrigation. Receiving ₹2,000 before rice planting allows farmers to purchase seeds on time.

Deputy Director of Agriculture Vijay Kumar reported that over 418,000 farmers in Ghazipur have received the 22nd installment of PM-Kisan. He emphasized that the total amount disbursed since the scheme’s inception is beyond what an average farmer could have imagined, enabling them to meet their immediate agricultural needs with ease.

Municipal Chairperson Sarita Agarwal congratulated the farmers on the release of the 22nd installment, stating that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, direct financial support is reaching farmers transparently.

Meanwhile, farmers in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, also expressed their happiness over the release of the 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme. They shared that the central government is working to benefit farmers through various initiatives, providing them with ₹60,000 in assistance. They expressed gratitude to both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for the support they are receiving.

It is noteworthy that the PM-Kisan scheme aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this initiative, farmers receive a total of ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts. The government believes that timely access to this amount helps farmers meet their needs for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural necessities.
