
Hyderabad, March 13: The Telangana government has confirmed that there is an adequate supply of LPG to meet current demand. This assurance comes in light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, prompting a review of LPG stocks.
The government has guaranteed uninterrupted cylinder supply to 12.9 million consumers across the state. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao conducted a review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat with representatives from oil marketing companies and officials from the Civil Supplies Department.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on the supply of LPG, storage levels, transportation systems, and future demand. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to ensure there are no disruptions in the distribution of LPG cylinders to domestic consumers. He emphasized the need for daily monitoring, prevention of black marketing, and strict police oversight at distribution centers and agencies.
Officials reported that there are currently 12.9 million domestic LPG connections in the state, with sufficient stock available to meet existing demand. They also noted that LPG cylinders are being supplied to hospitals and government hostels as needed.
Representatives from oil companies and department officials reassured that there is no need for domestic consumers to worry about LPG supply. Currently, there are 810 LPG distribution centers operating throughout the state.
The Chief Secretary directed oil marketing companies to ensure timely delivery of oil to consumers and advised better coordination with relevant departments to maintain regular supply in both rural and urban areas.
This meeting included representatives from HPCL, IOCL, and BPCL, along with State Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy clarified that there is no shortage of LPG in the state. He held a video conference with district collectors, superintendents of police (SPs), and police commissioners to review LPG supply, preparations for drinking water during the summer, and the implementation of the 99-day Praja Palana-Pragati program.
Reddy reiterated that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the state and instructed officials to ensure a seamless supply for domestic consumers, hospitals, and government hostels. District collectors were tasked with preventing black marketing, addressing public misconceptions, and ensuring consumers face no inconvenience.
