
Mumbai, June 1: Uttar Pradesh‘s Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, took a ride on the Mumbai Metro during his visit to Maharashtra on Monday. He traveled from the Siddhivinayak Metro Station to the airport. During this journey, he reiterated the importance of promoting public transport usage. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to adopt more public transport options, which aligns with his own experience on the metro today.
Pathak highlighted that the world is currently facing various economic and international challenges. Rising fuel prices and global instability have impacted the lives of ordinary people. In this context, using public transport is not only economically beneficial but also essential for the environment and traffic management.
He praised the Mumbai Metro as a modern and safe transportation system, utilized by thousands of commuters daily. Pathak noted that traveling on the metro allowed him to meet and interact with everyday citizens, which he found to be a rewarding experience. According to him, facilities like the metro accelerate the country’s development and provide people with better and more comfortable travel options.
He urged the public to prioritize public transport in their daily lives to alleviate traffic issues and control pollution in cities.
Additionally, he addressed a recent criminal incident in Ghaziabad, discussing the Uttar Pradesh government‘s law and order policy. He stated, “The main accused in the Ghaziabad incident was killed in a police encounter. We all know that the Uttar Pradesh government operates under a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards crime.”
Pathak affirmed, “Campaigns against criminals will continue in Uttar Pradesh. Any criminal who dares to break the law will face strict action under the law.”
