New Delhi, July 31: A grand ‘Pipping Ceremony’ was held at the Delhi Police Headquarters’ Adarsh Auditorium on Friday, honoring 202 retiring police personnel with honorary ranks on their retirement day. The event was presided over by Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar (IPS), who, alongside senior officials, presented the retiring officers—from constables to sub-inspectors—with badges representing their new honorary ranks.
In his address, Commissioner Anurag Kumar congratulated the retiring personnel and their families. He praised their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and dedicated service to the Delhi Police and the nation. He acknowledged that policing is one of the most challenging professions, with new responsibilities and unexpected situations arising daily. He commended the retiring officers for upholding the highest standards of integrity, capability, and dedication throughout their careers.
The Commissioner also highlighted the significant personal sacrifices made by police personnel during their service, noting that the demanding nature of the job often leaves little time for family. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families of the retiring officers for their unwavering support, patience, and sacrifices, which enabled the officers to perform their duties with dedication and loyalty.
Reflecting on the long service of the retiring personnel, the Commissioner expressed hope that their retirement would provide them with the opportunity and time to pursue personal desires, interests, and dreams that may have been sidelined during their careers.
He reassured the retiring officers that they would always remain an integral part of the Delhi Police family and that the organization would stand by them whenever needed. He concluded his remarks by extending heartfelt congratulations to all retiring personnel and thanking everyone involved in making the event memorable.
The ceremony included a total of 202 personnel, ranging from head constables to assistant sub-inspectors (7), sub-inspectors (37), and inspectors (158). Senior officials from the Delhi Police, along with the honored officers and their family members, attended the event.
