Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves Increased Honorarium for Education Volunteers

Lucknow, April 7: In a significant cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhawan, the Uttar Pradesh government approved a total of 22 proposals aimed at the state’s development and public welfare. This meeting is considered crucial for setting the policy direction of the state government. After extensive discussions on various departmental proposals, they were unanimously passed.

Following the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak addressed the media, stating that over 20 proposals were reviewed and approved. He mentioned plans for the preservation and beautification of statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other architects of the Indian Constitution. This initiative will include the construction of canopies and platforms for the statues, with renovations set to begin on April 14.

Pathak emphasized that during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party, over a thousand riots occurred in the state. He noted that the public still remembers the Muzaffarnagar riots, asserting that riots and the Samajwadi Party’s governance have become synonymous. He criticized the law and order situation during their rule.

He further stated, “You all know that our sisters were deprived of their rights, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritized this issue and has honored them. The demand for 33% reservation has been ongoing for many years. I was present in Parliament when the Samajwadi Party opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill, while the Congress remained silent. I sincerely congratulate and thank Prime Minister Modi for giving respect to half the population, a feat no one has achieved since independence.”

Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar referred to salary-related proposals from his department. Regarding the Madarsa Board, he clarified that no new bill is currently being introduced. He mentioned that the law under discussion was passed during the Samajwadi Party’s government in 2016 and had already received cabinet approval.

He added, “If reservation is for half the population, shouldn’t women receive it? Shouldn’t they be represented in assemblies? The work being done by PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is absolutely correct.”

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced that this day is historic for education volunteers. The cabinet has decided to increase their honorarium from ₹10,000 to ₹18,000 per month. Similarly, the honorarium for instructors has been raised from ₹9,000 to ₹17,000. This decision is expected to provide direct financial benefits to nearly 200,000 families in the state.

Minister Jayveer Singh targeted the opposition, stating that the people of the state have not forgotten the ‘jungle raj’ of the past. He accused the Samajwadi Party of past atrocities, asserting that the public will not forgive Akhilesh Yadav.

Minister Ashish Patel mentioned that the cabinet made solid decisions on several important public issues. He accused the opposition of misleading the public, claiming they lack substantial issues to address.
