US Defence Strategy 2026: Pursuing Peace Through Strength

Washington, 25 January – The United States has outlined its 2026 National Defence Strategy, emphasising a desire for respectful and lasting peace with potential adversaries. According to the strategy, such peace is not to be achieved through conflict or prolonged war but through strong military power and pragmatic thinking.

Focus on Peace and Security

The strategy states that the strength of the US military aims to establish peace that safeguards the security, freedom, and prosperity of the American people. It also acknowledges that if other nations maintain “reasonable and limited” demands, their interests can be respected.
