Mumbai, April 10: Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s article regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. He stated that bills related to women’s reservation and delimitation will be passed during the special session scheduled from April 16 to 18.
In a conversation in Mumbai, Deora mentioned that the delimitation process will commence as soon as the delimitation bill is approved. Our goal, as highlighted by Prime Minister Modi in his article on Thursday, is to implement women’s reservation in the Lok Sabha and all state assemblies by 2029.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, saying, “On behalf of Shiv Sena, I sincerely thank the Prime Minister. Our entire party fully supports this bill.”
Deora also noted that the Rajya Sabha is referred to as the ‘upper house,’ comprising both young leaders and experienced politicians like Nitish Kumar. He emphasized the need for collaboration between youth and experienced leaders to advance the nation.
Regarding the Congress withdrawing its candidate in the Baramati by-election, Deora remarked that such withdrawals have been a tradition following unfortunate events, like the recent passing of the Deputy Chief Minister in Maharashtra.
He thanked the Congress for this decision. It is noteworthy that Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal announced that the party would withdraw its candidate for the Baramati by-election, which was initially contested against Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar.
This decision comes at a time when the nomination withdrawal process is in its final stages, amidst ongoing political activity related to the elections. Voting for the Baramati seat is scheduled for April 23, and Congress’s move has significantly altered the electoral dynamics.
