Kyiv, February 15: Ukraine is prepared to enter a peace agreement. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during the Munich Security Conference in Germany, emphasizing that Ukraine is ready for a deal that will bring genuine peace.
According to the news agency Ukrinform, Zelensky remarked, “Ukraine is ready for an agreement that will bring real peace for us, for Ukraine, and for Europe.” He stressed that resolving this crisis honorably is of utmost importance.
Zelensky criticized Europe for being virtually absent from the negotiation table, calling it a significant mistake. As reported by the Xinhua news agency, Ukraine is making efforts to fully involve Europe in the negotiation process to ensure that European interests and voices are considered.
He affirmed that Ukraine will do everything possible to make these talks successful and is in constant communication with American representatives.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated earlier this month that Russia is prepared to resolve the Ukraine crisis through negotiations based on agreements made with American leaders.
He noted, “Russia is fully committed to the outcomes of the talks held last August in Anchorage between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American President Donald Trump. Moscow hopes that its interests will be fully considered in the process of reaching mutually agreed agreements with partners ready for honest and direct dialogue.”
Lavrov also mentioned that Russia aims to uphold truth and justice in international affairs and promote a multipolar world based on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. He reiterated Russia’s opposition to double standards, hidden agendas, imposed settlement formulas, as well as neocolonialism and imperialism.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that strengthening strategic partnerships with emerging centers of a multipolar world will be a priority. He added that Russia and like-minded partners will work to rapidly develop a sanctions-resistant system for trade, investment, financial, and logistical cooperation.
