U.S. Attack in Southeastern Iran Claims Lives of Seven Soldiers

Tehran, July 15: The Iranian military has announced a response to the recent U.S. attack on the Bampoor garrison in southeastern Iran. The military labeled the assault as “cowardly” and stated that a decisive reply would be given at the appropriate time.

According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the military’s statement revealed that the U.S. launched 13 missiles at the Bampoor barracks located in the Iranshahr area of Sistan-Baluchestan province. This attack resulted in the deaths of seven personnel from the 388th Brigade, with several others injured.

The Iranian military reported that “security measures” at the military base helped limit the number of casualties. They claimed the U.S. attacks aimed to inflict maximum damage, targeting the base’s guesthouse, security checkpoints, and residential facilities.

The military emphasized that the assault was not only intended to damage the military installation but also aimed to cause significant casualties among the personnel.

Meanwhile, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani expressed condolences on social media, stating that over 30 civilians have died in recent U.S. attacks in southern Iran. Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour reported that more than 260 individuals were injured in the latest assaults.

In a post on the social media platform X, Mohajerani extended her sympathies to the families of the deceased, saying, “We express our condolences to the grieving families and honor the memory of those who lost their lives.” She affirmed that the government stands firmly with the public, referring to southern Iran as the country’s “beating heart.”

Additionally, the governor of Bushehr province, Mohammad Mojafari, reported that the U.S. targeted three locations in the western coastal city. However, there were no reports of casualties from this attack.

According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the governor stated that no casualties occurred from the U.S. projectiles that fell in the city on Tuesday morning. He noted that U.S. forces attacked a total of four locations in the western port city.

The governor added, “Rescue agencies remain vigilant, and the situation in the city is normal.” He indicated that the administration is continuously monitoring the situation and has kept emergency services on alert. Bushehr is a strategic coastal region in Iran, home to significant industrial and energy establishments.
