Twelve Asiatic Lions Return to the Wild in Gujarat After Recovery

Gandhinagar, June 5: Relief has come from the Gir forest region of Gujarat regarding the health of the Asiatic lions. Forest and Environment Minister Arjunbhai Modhwadia announced that out of 17 lions under health observation, 12 have fully recovered. After necessary medical checks and care, these lions have been returned to their natural habitat.

According to the minister, the remaining five lions are also healthy and their condition remains stable. However, as a precaution, they are still under veterinary supervision. Regular check-ups are being conducted to ensure their complete recovery. Once the expert team declares them fit, they too will be released back into the wild.

The forest department is continuously monitoring the health of the Asiatic lions. Teams are regularly observing the lions’ activities, health, and the condition of their natural habitat. Necessary measures are being taken to detect any potential illnesses or health issues promptly.

Arjunbhai Modhwadia reassured the public that there is no need for concern regarding the lions’ health. The forest department and veterinary specialists are working diligently, keeping a close watch on the condition of all the lions.

Out of the 17 lions under observation, 12 have now returned to their natural habitat, while the remaining five are also healthy and will soon be released.

This entire episode underscores the forest department’s commitment to the conservation and health protection of the Asiatic lions.
