Ayodhya, July 2: In the ongoing controversy surrounding donations for the Ram Temple, Prakash Gupta, the in-charge of the trust office, stated that only the trustees can provide information regarding the trust’s rules and their roles. He emphasized that the responsibility for counting donations lay with the State Bank, asserting that the trust had no direct involvement in the process.
Gupta explained that the trustees are the only ones who can clarify details about the trust. The trust was established following a Supreme Court order, and specific rules were created. While he lacked detailed knowledge of these rules, he noted that the trust includes representatives from the central government, the state government, and the local district magistrate. The trust operates under the supervision of these representatives, who can explain their roles.
He further clarified that the trust was not aware of the counting process, which was solely the responsibility of the State Bank. Employees from the bank were tasked with counting donations as per the agreement with the trust. Gupta expressed disbelief at allegations of theft, stating that the investigation is ongoing.
Addressing the accusations of donation misappropriation, Gupta remarked that there are no restrictions on making allegations. He suggested that those who have historically opposed the trust or hold contrary views are likely to make such claims. He reiterated that the trust had no connection to the counting process, which was managed by the State Bank.
Regarding the arrests of individuals involved in the counting, Gupta mentioned that Tinnu Yadav was responsible for overseeing the counting process. Yadav had the authority to manage access within the campus, as not everyone was permitted inside. He was tasked with guiding VIP visitors. Gupta maintained that the trust had no role in the counting; it was strictly an agreement with the State Bank, which provided its own personnel for the task.
