Major Fire Erupts in Ghaziabads Aditya Mega City, Quick Response Averts Disaster

Ghaziabad, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Panic ensued in Ghaziabad’s Aditya Mega City on Saturday afternoon when a severe fire broke out in the storage room of a flat. The blaze spread rapidly, filling the entire tower with thick, toxic smoke. Emergency services were alerted immediately, and firefighters arrived on the scene to manage the situation.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. However, the fire caused significant damage to items stored in the room and surrounding household goods. The fire department received the call around 2:12 PM, prompting the chief fire officer to dispatch two fire engines and a team of firefighters to the location.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire was raging in the storage area of flat number GC-502 on the fifth floor. The flames were intense, and smoke had begun to infiltrate other areas of the building. Maintenance staff attempted to control the fire initially, but its intensity made the situation critical. The smoke was so dense that it posed a challenge for firefighters to enter the building.

Despite these difficulties, firefighters equipped with protective gear commenced their operation. They used hoses to reach the scene via the stairs and activated the building’s pre-installed firefighting system. Wearing breathing apparatus, the team safely navigated through the smoke to locate the source of the fire and extinguish it. They also employed advanced exhaust equipment to clear the dense smoke from the tower and flat.

After persistent efforts, the firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the blaze. The prompt action by the fire department, along with the building’s automatic firefighting system, prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent flats, averting a potential disaster. Had the fire not been controlled in time, the thick smoke and flames could have endangered other residents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. After extinguishing the flames, the fire department conducted a thorough inspection of the affected area to ensure there was no risk of rekindling.
