Kejriwal Accuses PM Modi of Negligence in Ram Temple Donation Controversy

New Delhi, July 2: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, has made serious allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the donation theft and issues related to the Ram Temple Trust. Accompanied by Delhi state president Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kejriwal stated that despite being aware of the situation, the Prime Minister allegedly failed to take effective action against the culprits and attempted to suppress the matter.

Kejriwal asserted that the Ram Temple Trust was established under Modi’s supervision, and its members were selected with his consent. He questioned the accountability regarding the alleged financial irregularities, land purchases, and donation discrepancies associated with the temple. He raised concerns about whether the public can trust that real action will be taken against the actual offenders in this case.

He also referred to alleged land purchase scandals that surfaced in 2021, claiming that some properties were bought at prices significantly higher than their market value. According to him, one piece of land was purchased for two crore rupees and sold to the Trust for 18 crore rupees just minutes later. He highlighted that similar discrepancies exist in other land deals, asserting that these cases have not been thoroughly investigated.

Kejriwal further alleged that some engineers involved in the temple’s construction complained about being asked for a 40% commission on tenders. Additionally, he claimed that CCTV footage recorded multiple theft incidents, with several months of footage reportedly missing. He questioned why the central government and relevant agencies were not informed about such large-scale irregularities.

The AAP leader also criticized the functioning of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), claiming it is conducting a limited inquiry and not investigating the alleged land scams. He mentioned that when party MP Sanjay Singh approached the SIT with purported documents, he was informed that the investigation was restricted to donation-related issues. Kejriwal deemed this limitation as a challenge to the investigation’s integrity.

He noted that those arrested so far are merely low-level employees, while the actual responsible parties remain untouched by the investigation. He pointed out that similar committees have been formed in the past, but no significant actions were taken against high-profile individuals. Kejriwal has demanded that Prime Minister Modi publicly respond to the entire issue.

He emphasized that the religious faith of millions of people in the country is tied to Lord Ram, thus calling for a transparent, fair, and comprehensive investigation. If any irregularities are found at any level, he insisted that strict action should be taken against those responsible.
