Trump Criticizes Obama on Iran Deal, Vows Not to Repeat Mistakes

Washington, May 25: President Donald Trump has targeted former President Barack Obama, stating that he will not repeat the mistakes made regarding Iran. He has instructed his representatives to avoid rushing into any agreements.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the Iran nuclear deal as one of the worst agreements in U.S. history, signed by Obama and his inexperienced administration. He asserted that the deal paved the way for Iran to develop nuclear weapons. However, he emphasized that the current negotiations under his administration are quite different. “The talks are progressing properly, and I have told my representatives not to rush into any agreement while we have time,” he stated.

Trump added that until a deal is certified and signed, the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz will remain fully enforced. He urged both parties to take their time and ensure that the agreement is correct, stating, “There can be no mistakes.” He noted that relations with Iran are becoming increasingly professional and productive, but they must understand that they cannot develop or acquire nuclear weapons.

Recently, Trump shared a map of the United States in the Middle East on Truth Social, which included the U.S. flag over Iran. Following this, he expressed gratitude to all Middle Eastern countries for their support and cooperation, suggesting that the historic Abraham Accords could expand to include Iran.

The Abraham Accords, brokered by the U.S., marked a historic agreement where several Arab nations formally normalized relations with Israel for the first time. The aim is to enhance peace in the Middle East, boost trade, tourism, and technical cooperation, strengthen security and defense partnerships, and reduce long-standing tensions between Israel and Arab countries. Named after the biblical figure Abraham, this agreement is seen as a significant shift in Middle Eastern politics, as many Arab nations had historically refused to recognize Israel.
