Trump Credits Tariffs for Manufacturing Resurgence in the U.S.

Washington, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : U.S. President Donald Trump has attributed the revival of manufacturing jobs and factories in America to his tariff policies. Speaking in Washington, he emphasized that these tariffs protect American industries from foreign competition, leading to a resurgence in domestic manufacturing.

During his address in Texas, Trump highlighted the growth of a truck manufacturing company as evidence that his trade policies are effective. “We are seeing more factories being built than ever before. You are doing great, and these companies are thriving. Factories and plants are emerging across the country. Manufacturing is coming back,” he stated.

Trump noted that tariffs have made it difficult for foreign companies to sell goods in the U.S. and take jobs away from American workers. “They used to sell their products here, take the money, and leave you without jobs. That has changed with my administration,” he said. He also claimed that U.S. exports have reached record levels and that the trade deficit with China is declining rapidly.

“Our strong tariff policy has led to the highest level of U.S. exports in our nation’s history this year,” Trump added. He mentioned that the trade deficit with China has dropped to its lowest level in 44 years.

The President pointed out that wages in the manufacturing sector have increased, with 60,000 new manufacturing jobs added this year alone. Production of heavy trucks has surged by nearly 31%. He stated that the supply of heavy trucks has reached historic highs during his administration.

Sarah Renshaw, Events Manager at Peterbilt, told Trump that his tariffs have allowed the company to increase production and hire more workers. “Mr. President, because of your tariffs, we have been able to ramp up production and employ 1,000 workers,” she said.

Trump linked the success of the trucking industry to the rollback of certain environmental regulations related to heavy trucks. He specifically referenced a rule concerning nitrogen oxides, arguing that its repeal would lower manufacturing costs.

Earlier, Preston Feight, CEO of PACCAR, welcomed Trump to the factory and praised his administration’s trade policies. “President Trump, we are very grateful to you, Secretary Ross, and the entire administration for implementing trade policies that are beneficial for America,” Feight remarked.
