New Delhi, August 29: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of hockey legend and Padma Bhushan awardee Major Dhyan Chand, several leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, paid their respects on Saturday.
CM Yogi shared a heartfelt message on the social media platform X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the hockey wizard, Padma Bhushan Major Dhyan Chand, I offer my humble tribute. I also extend warm wishes to all athletes and residents of the state on National Sports Day. Let us make sports a way of life, discipline our identity, and strive for the honor of our tricolor. This will be a true tribute to Major Dhyan Chand and the foundation of a strong, healthy, and self-confident youth for a developed India.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also took to social media, writing, “On the birth anniversary of the hockey wizard and great player Major Dhyan Chand, I pay my respects. His life is an inspiring example of dedication to sports, discipline, and service to the nation. Happy National Sports Day! This day strengthens our resolve to encourage sports talents.
