Tributes Pour in for Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on His Death Anniversary

New Delhi, June 12: On June 12, 2025, a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad claimed the lives of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and 259 others. On the first anniversary of his passing, tributes have been paid by several BJP leaders, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan expressed his condolences on X, stating, “I pay my humble tribute to the senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, the late Vijay Rupani! He was incredibly humble, simple, and possessed remarkable organizational skills. As a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a dedicated BJP worker, he devoted his entire life to the service of Mother India. His commitment to Gujarat’s development is exemplary. Through his work in public service and for the advancement of the nation and society, he will always remain alive in our memories and hearts.”

Bihar government minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also took to X to honor Rupani, saying, “A heartfelt tribute to the late Vijay Rupani, a senior leader of the BJP and former Chief Minister of Gujarat.”

Sanjay Sarawagi, the Bihar BJP state president, wrote on X, “I pay my heartfelt tribute to former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on his death anniversary. His dedication and spirit of service will always inspire us.”

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma shared his respects on X, stating, “A heartfelt tribute to the senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, on his death anniversary.”

Uttar Pradesh government minister Kunwar Brijesh Singh also posted a tribute on X, saying, “A heartfelt salute to the senior leader of the BJP and former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, on his death anniversary.”

It is noteworthy that on June 12, 2025, Air India Flight 171 took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, bound for Gatwick Airport in London, United Kingdom. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft crashed in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad, resulting in the tragic loss of 260 lives.
