SpiceJet Flights to Dubai Delayed, Passengers Protest at Delhi Airport

New Delhi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Passengers traveling on SpiceJet flights from Delhi to Dubai experienced significant delays, prompting protests at the airport. Reports indicate that one flight, SG 5111, was delayed for over 24 hours, with repeated announcements of postponements throughout the day. As of the latest updates, this flight was marked as canceled on the flight tracking platform, FlightRadar24.

Another flight, SG 5105, scheduled to depart on Monday evening at 6:45 PM, was also postponed until Tuesday afternoon. Frustrated passengers reported a lack of communication from the airline regarding the situation.

Videos circulating on social media showed stranded travelers sitting on the terminal floor, seeking updates about their flights. According to sources, officials at Delhi Airport provided food and beverages to affected passengers during this challenging time.

One Twitter user highlighted the operational difficulties that caused the delays, emphasizing the passengers’ plight as they waited on the terminal floor while authorities assisted them with refreshments.

SpiceJet attributed the delays to operational challenges, citing that one of its aircraft had been grounded. In a statement, the airline confirmed that the delays for flights SG 5111 and SG 5105 were due to these operational issues. They assured that alternative flights were being arranged for the impacted travelers and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

This incident follows a series of disruptions earlier this month, including a flight diversion from Lucknow due to poor weather and visibility conditions, as well as a technical issue that diverted a flight from Bhopal to Jaipur.
