Noida, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : To ensure the successful and secure conduct of the BRICS Summit, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate launched an extensive security operation. Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, special deployments were made to maintain law and order, monitor suspicious individuals and vehicles, and facilitate the safe movement of delegations throughout the commissionerate area.
On September 8, a thorough checking campaign was conducted across 35 metro stations and 121 taxi, auto, and bus stands. During this operation, 2,102 vehicles were inspected, resulting in the issuance of 799 traffic violation tickets and the seizure of 32 vehicles. Additionally, legal action was taken against 256 individuals under Section 292 B.N.S.S.
The security efforts intensified on September 10 and 11, with 2,551 vehicles ticketed and 115 vehicles seized. Nine cases were registered under various sections, and action was taken against 958 individuals under Section 292 B.N.S.S. Police personnel maintained a visible presence in the area to oversee security measures. On September 12, 192 cyber cafes were inspected to ensure compliance with regulations.
Cyber cafe operators were instructed to maintain proper records, verify visitors, and adhere to cybersecurity guidelines. On September 13, during another special operation, 1,582 vehicles were ticketed, and 65 vehicles were seized, with six cases filed and action taken against 529 individuals under Section 292 B.N.S.S.
Due to the arrival of the Russian delegation for the BRICS Summit, enhanced security arrangements were implemented at Jewar Airport. A significant number of aircraft were stationed at the airport to accommodate the delegates, who were housed in hotels in Greater Noida and Delhi. Police escorts and security measures were arranged for their transit.
To secure the parked aircraft at Jewar Airport, a dedicated guard of police officers was deployed, along with additional forces from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC). The outer cordon of the airport was strengthened, and extensive checks were conducted on surrounding areas, including the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and all entry and exit points.
On September 6, special security measures were also put in place for the arrival of chief justices and delegations from BRICS member and partner countries. On September 14, during the visit of Uganda’s Vice President from Delhi to Agra, a substantial police presence was deployed along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway.
Throughout this campaign, the police maintained effective coordination among various units. The continuous police presence and rigorous checks at sensitive sites and major routes ensured the safety and smooth traffic management during the BRICS Summit.
