
New Delhi, April 14: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and Maharashtra’s Governor Jagdish Mukhi paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, on his 135th birth anniversary.
Speaker Om Birla expressed his thoughts on social media platform X, stating, “Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s life is a remarkable saga of struggle. Despite facing adversity, he reached great heights and became a beacon of hope for millions of marginalized and oppressed people through his indomitable courage, hard work, and education.”
He further emphasized that Ambedkar made equality, freedom, justice, and brotherhood the guiding principles of his life. These ideals were enshrined in the Indian Constitution, providing a strong direction for the nation. “Baba Saheb is a unique gem of our nation, whose life and work have inspired generations before and after independence, becoming a continuous source of motivation,” he added.
As the chairman of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly, Ambedkar provided a visionary document that remains the bedrock of democracy and protects the rights of every citizen. His life teaches us that positive change in society is possible through education, awareness, and organized efforts. As we move towards building a developed and inclusive India, Baba Saheb’s thoughts become even more relevant. His struggle and philosophy inspire us to stand against injustice, inequality, and discrimination. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also paid homage, recognizing Dr. Ambedkar as a transformative architect of India’s social and national consciousness. Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s Governor Jagdish Mukhi paid tribute at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai. On this occasion, he laid floral offerings at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar, attended by his secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Lok Bhavan staff and officials, and state police personnel.
