Chennai, April 14: The trend of remakes in South Indian cinema is gaining momentum. However, some stories stand out due to their unique titles and narratives. One such story is the film ‘Ranjan – The Advocate,’ which will address social issues. Following actor Prashanth, veteran actor Sathyaraj has now joined the cast.
Director Tyagarajan’s upcoming film ‘Ranjan – The Advocate’ has been a topic of ongoing discussion. With Sathyaraj’s involvement, excitement among audiences has surged. The producers released a special poster to welcome Sathyaraj on the occasion of Tamil New Year.
The production house stated, “Happy Tamil New Year. Sathyaraj, welcome to the film. ‘Ranjan – The Advocate’ is not just a courtroom drama; it also includes an emotional love story. The narrative will deeply explore pain, struggle, and the quest for justice. In this film, Prashanth will portray the character of ‘Ranjan,’ a lawyer.”
This film is a Tamil remake of the hit Telugu movie ‘Court – State Versus A Nobody.’ The original film received excellent responses from both audiences and critics, as it raised a sensitive social issue, making it a topic of considerable discussion.
In the original, actor Nani played the lead role, showcasing the misuse of the POCSO Act. The film posed critical questions about how the law can sometimes be misused, affecting the lives of ordinary people.
The technical team for ‘Ranjan – The Advocate’ is also regarded as strong, with music composed by the two-time National Award winner G.V. Prakash Kumar.
In addition to Prashanth and Sathyaraj, the film features notable actors such as R.K. Suresh, Mime Gopi, Subramaniam Shiva, and Mohan Raman in significant roles.
