Fast-Track Court Hearing Demanded in Kishtwar Case, Says Ranbir Pathania

Jammu, August 30: In response to Mehbooba Mufti’s demand for a CBI investigation into the Kishtwar case, BJP legislator Ranbir Singh Pathania expressed full sympathy with the victim’s family. He stated that the accused teacher has tarnished the sacred teacher-student relationship. Pathania urged for a fast-track court hearing, emphasizing that the police have uncovered the case using scientific evidence. He called for a swift filing of charges and a punishment that sets an example for the nation and the world.

Pathania reiterated his support for the victim’s family, stating, “Anyone who has heard about this incident is horrified. It is shocking that a person, who is a teacher by profession, has brought disgrace to the teacher-student relationship and to society as a whole. The involvement of multiple individuals has been revealed. The next step is to expedite the filing of charges and take the case to a fast-track court.”

He praised the local police for their diligent efforts in using scientific evidence to solve the case. “It is crucial that charges are filed promptly and that justice is delivered in record time. The punishment in this case should serve as a role model not just for Jammu and Kashmir, but for the entire world. It is essential to send a message that the daughters and women of Jammu and Kashmir are safe. I reiterate that the harshest punishment should be meted out, and if possible, the death penalty should be considered.”

On the controversy involving Time Raina and Sharon Verma, he remarked, “In pursuit of cheap TRP, many comedians cross the line. A recent example is Lakshman, who has made sharp comments about various leaders for the past 30-40 years. Many have become so accustomed to his commentary that they cannot start their day without it. They should learn a lesson from him.”

Pathania concluded by stating that there should be limits. “In today’s world, if you have something to say, it must be done responsibly. Legal action should also be taken in such cases. Discussions should be based on facts, not on vague statements.”
