Mumbai, May 24: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has sharply reacted to Congress leader Ajay Rai’s derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as comments made by Rahul Gandhi and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Athawale emphasized that Congress leaders frequently use inappropriate language against Modi. He reminded them that Modi is not just the leader of one party but the Prime Minister of the entire nation.
He stated that no matter how much the opposition criticizes or uses derogatory language, the central government will continue to focus on development and progress. Under Modi’s strong leadership, the country is advancing, and the government’s priority remains the upliftment and development of the public.
In a sarcastic tone, Athawale remarked that Rahul Gandhi envisions the future through his own perspective, but his predictions have not been accurate so far. In 2019, Congress won only 44 seats, yet Gandhi claimed Modi would be ousted. However, the BJP, under Modi’s leadership, secured 303 seats, forming a robust government. Despite Gandhi’s numerous campaigns and the opposition’s efforts to unite against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA government returned to power.
Athawale acknowledged that while the BJP’s seat count may have decreased, the party has never resorted to allegations of bogus voting. He accused Gandhi of making continuous statements and asserted that Narendra Modi will still be the Prime Minister in 2029.
He also responded to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement, which suggested that he previously believed Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were behind the BJP’s victories, but now thinks it is Rahul Gandhi.
Athawale countered that Modi and Amit Shah are strong-willed leaders, while Gandhi constantly shifts his political stance. In Tamil Nadu, Congress allied with DMK and won five seats, but TVK leader Vijay secured the most seats. Athawale accused Congress of betraying DMK by forming a government with TVK.
