Ayodhya, June 29: In a significant development related to the Ram Temple case, an officer who has served in the temple complex for 17 years has been transferred. This decision is reportedly based on findings from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report.

Arjun Dev Singh, an officer from the Wireless Department, held the position of Radio Maintenance Officer at the Ram Temple complex. He has been stationed there for nearly two decades. Although he faced multiple transfer orders in the past, they were consistently postponed for various reasons, allowing him to remain in Ayodhya.

Concerns regarding his role were raised in the SIT report, particularly as he was responsible for monitoring all CCTV cameras and wireless communications within the temple premises.

In 2024, during the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple, Singh was initially transferred. However, due to requests from the trust and other officials, his transfer was halted. Now, he has officially been transferred to Gorakhpur and has already departed.

Meanwhile, in a related case concerning donations to the Ram Temple, eight accused individuals were sent to judicial custody for 14 days by a court in Ayodhya on Monday. They are scheduled to appear before the court again on July 13.

Additionally, police have issued notices to approximately six banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank, requesting information about the bank accounts and lockers of the arrested individuals, the trust, and others involved. Reports indicate that around 70 to 80 people will be summoned to provide statements as part of the ongoing investigation.

On the same day, the Supreme Court declined to expedite a public interest petition seeking a forensic audit and judicial oversight of the management of donations received by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, related to alleged financial irregularities in Ayodhya.
