Major IPS Transfers in Bihar: Sudhanshu Kumar Appointed as ADG Traffic

Patna, July 1: The Bihar government has announced significant transfers among Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. On Wednesday, the Home Department issued a notification regarding the transfer and new postings of 12 IPS officers. This reshuffle includes responsibilities assigned to ADG, IG, and SP level officers, along with young IPS officers taking on new roles.

According to the released order, 1991 batch IPS officer Preeta Verma has been transferred from the position of Director-General-cum-Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation to the role of Director-General-cum-Mahasamadeshtha of the Home Guard and Fire Services, Bihar.

Similarly, IPS officer Nirmal Kumar Azad has been given additional charge as Director-General of Police (Training) along with the role of Director-General of Police for Prohibition and State Product Control Bureau. Pankaj Kumar Darad has been moved from the position of Additional Director-General of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation.

Sudhanshu Kumar (1996 batch) has been reassigned from Additional Director-General (Law and Order) to Additional Director-General (Traffic) and has also been given additional charge of the Special Monitoring Unit. Additionally, Amit Raj has been transferred from the Cyber Crime and Security Unit to become Additional Director-General of the ATS.

Kase Suhita Anupam from the same batch has been appointed as Additional Director-General of Law and Order while also handling additional responsibilities in the Crime Investigation Department for the underprivileged.

Rajesh Kumar has been transferred from the Bihar Human Rights Commission to become Inspector General of Police, SCRB. Meanwhile, Pankaj Kumar Raj from the 2006 batch has been appointed as Inspector General of Police for Railways after being transferred from SCRB. S. Premalatha has been designated as Inspector General of Police for the Bihar Special Armed Police after moving from the Prohibition and State Product Control Bureau.

Furthermore, 2022 batch IPS officer Garima has been transferred from the position of SDPO in Kahalgaon (Bhagalpur) to become the Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-9 in Jamalpur. Shivam Dhakad has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for rural areas in Madhubani after being the SDPO-1 in Danapur.

Lastly, Komal Meena from the 2023 batch has been promoted from SDPO-1 in Masaurhi to SDPO-2 in Patna (Law and Order).
