Mumbai, July 1: Leaders from the Samajwadi Party have targeted the government regarding the Ram Temple donation theft case. Mata Prasad Pandey, the leader of the opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, stated that stealing money meant for the temple is a highly unjust act. He pointed out that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has repeatedly claimed to eliminate crime and theft, yet such incidents have occurred under his administration. Pandey questioned the intentions of the state government.
Regarding the controversy surrounding the donations, he mentioned that those involved in the theft are connected to the RSS, indicating their complicity. He challenged the Chief Minister’s assertions that theft and corruption have been eradicated in Uttar Pradesh, asking if he would resign over this major theft.
On the occasion of Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday, Pandey extended his warm wishes, praying for his long life.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi commented on the Ram Temple donation theft, asserting that those responsible, including those who publicized the issue for political gain, should be held accountable. He emphasized that merely arresting lower-level individuals is insufficient. Azmi insisted that the significant theft at the Ram Temple should not be taken lightly and called for a thorough investigation and appropriate action.
Regarding the detention of Ajay Rai, Azmi remarked that individuals should have the freedom to visit the temple without interference. He criticized the BJP for politicizing the issue, which has deterred many from visiting the temple. He described the manner in which Rai was stopped as an act of tyranny.
In a conversation with reporters, Azmi also highlighted the need for cleaning drains and sewers before the monsoon, noting that no cleaning has been done so far. He expressed concern that corruption has consumed all the funds allocated for this purpose, warning that heavy rains would exacerbate potholes on the roads. He urged the government to address this issue urgently.
On the topic of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ Azmi accused the BJP of acting arbitrarily. He recalled that they claimed no one was injured or martyred, asserting that they often spread falsehoods. He insisted that the truth must be spoken in the assembly and that the BJP must be held accountable.
