Hyderabad, August 12: A tragic road accident in Telangana’s Sangareddy district has resulted in the deaths of five agricultural laborers from Karnataka, while seven others sustained injuries. The incident occurred on Tuesday in the New Satwar area of the Zahirabad mandal when a tanker collided with an auto-rickshaw.
The injured individuals have been admitted to the area hospital in Zahirabad. All the deceased and injured were reportedly agricultural workers from Bidar district in Karnataka, traveling in the auto-rickshaw.
Many agricultural laborers from Karnataka’s border regions travel to Zahirabad and nearby areas for work.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences over this heartbreaking road accident. He extended his sympathies to the families of the deceased and instructed officials to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care.
In another incident in Sangareddy district, two more people lost their lives in a separate road accident. According to police, this accident occurred near the Venkatapur junction on National Highway-65 in the Kohir mandal. A car reportedly lost control, first crashing into a divider and then colliding with oncoming vehicles.
This accident damaged four vehicles, causing a traffic jam on the highway. Police arrived at the scene and cleared the wreckage to restore normal traffic flow.
Meanwhile, in a tragic event in Hyderabad, a 23-year-old woman and her two-year-old son were killed after being struck by a train. The deceased has been identified as Anusha. She was working to clear bushes near the railway tracks between the Badwel and Shivramapally railway stations, along with 14 other laborers.
According to railway police, Anusha’s son, Tirinath, wandered onto the tracks while playing nearby. In an attempt to save him, Anusha ran onto the tracks but was unable to see the approaching train due to a curve.
Both mother and son were struck by the Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express, which was traveling from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi to Yeshvantpur in Bengaluru. Anusha was originally from a village in Warangal district and had come to Hyderabad for work.
