Tragic Road Accident in Gujarat Claims Five Lives from One Family

Mehsana, February 21: A devastating road accident occurred in Mehsana district, Gujarat, resulting in the deaths of five family members. Six others sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene, transporting the injured to the hospital and sending the deceased for post-mortem examinations.

According to reports, the family was returning to Ramol, Ahmedabad, after attending a wedding in Rajasthan. Near Unjha, their Eco car collided with a divider and overturned. The crash caused immediate chaos, with debris scattered everywhere. Local residents quickly alerted the police and initiated rescue efforts.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of a father and son, a woman, and a child. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. The deceased were identified as Ramlal Kumawat, Komal Kumawat, Kailash Kumawat, a child, and an elderly woman. Unjha police have commenced legal proceedings and sent the bodies for post-mortem.

This marks the second major road accident in Gujarat recently. Earlier, in Valsad district, a horrific crash on the Kaparda–Nanaponda highway near Kumbhghat resulted in the deaths of seven family members. The deceased were residents of Amba Jungle village in Kaparda taluka. At the time of the accident, seven individuals were in the car, including five men and two women.

The collision at Kumbhghat occurred at a notorious sharp turn, previously identified by officials as an accident-prone area. The impact between the truck and car was so severe that the car was extensively damaged, trapping the occupants inside. According to police, five individuals died at the scene, while two critically injured men succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, raising the death toll to seven.
