Tragic Fire in Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav Claims Lives Could Have Been Saved with Timely Action

Lucknow, June 24: The National President of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, has criticized the Uttar Pradesh government following a devastating fire incident in Aliganj, Lucknow. He alleged that negligence regarding safety standards, delays in rescue operations, and administrative carelessness led to the loss of innocent children’s lives.

Yadav demanded a compensation of one crore rupees for the families of the deceased and a government job for one family member. He stated that the government cannot evade its moral responsibility for this tragedy. Speaking to reporters at the Samajwadi Party headquarters, Yadav emphasized that the Aliganj incident was not merely an accident but a result of systemic failure. He remarked that if safety regulations had been enforced in a timely manner and rescue equipment had been available, many children’s lives could have been saved.

He questioned why modern tools were not used to break down walls during the rescue efforts, opting instead for hammers. Yadav pointed out that several major accidents have occurred in the state previously, yet no lessons have been learned from them. He accused the government of prioritizing the suppression of incidents over accountability. He expressed that there is no greater sorrow for a family than losing a child, a pain that only those who have lost a loved one can truly understand.

In addition, he reiterated his demand for financial assistance of one crore rupees for the families of the deceased and insisted on a fair investigation into the incident, calling for strict action against those responsible.

During the press conference, Yadav also raised concerns regarding the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate alleged irregularities in donations to the Ayodhya Ram Temple. He noted that the lack of an FIR in a matter involving the faith of millions raises many questions. He accused the investigation of lacking transparency and urged the government to clarify its position on the issue.

Yadav stated that millions of devotees across the country and state have generously donated for the construction and worship at the Ram Temple. Therefore, if there are suspicions of irregularities regarding donations, a fair investigation should be conducted, and those found guilty should face severe punishment.

In response to a question about the alleged land dispute involving Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, he remarked that there appears to be internal conflicts within the ruling party, leading to such news. Commenting on the BJP’s attempts to attract MPs from other parties, he accused the BJP of using democratic institutions for political expansion. He affirmed that the Samajwadi Party stands for the rights of the tribal community and that when in power, it will ensure their rights over water, forests, and land.
