Lucknow, June 24: Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput has criticized the BJP regarding the Ram Temple donation controversy and the jihad remarks by Maulana Madani. He accused the BJP of engaging in Hindu-Muslim politics in the country.
On the report submitted by the SIT concerning the Ram Temple donation case, Rajput stated, “Submitting a report is not a new thing. The real question is, what does that report contain? People are saying that the SIT’s report includes suggestions. Was the SIT there to provide suggestions? Does Nripendra Mishra not know that more cameras should be installed? The investigation team went to Ayodhya merely to protect fraudsters, thieves, and robbers while targeting ‘small fish.’ If the BJP truly wants to stop the donation thieves, they should first file an FIR and remove the officials of the BJP, VHP, and RSS from the trust. The trust should include four Shankaracharyas, five Ramanujacharyas, and 13 saints from Akharas. Political and RSS members should be expelled from the trust and sent to jail.”
Regarding Maulana Arshad Madani’s statement that every Muslim should engage in jihad, Rajput remarked, “Jihad is an Islamic term used for spiritual purity. It is not a negative word; it is performed for the cleansing of the soul. Like a religious war, jihad is also a term. Under the BJP’s rule, the meaning of jihad is being distorted. The BJP is amplifying Madani’s statements to create divisions between Hindus and Muslims.”
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has decided to launch a nationwide campaign against the marginalization of Muslims and the destruction of mosques and madrasas. In response, Rajput stated, “There is a Hindu-Muslim divide in the country. Temples are being searched under mosques, and flags are being waved at shrines. DJs are being played in front of mosques. People from the Muslim community are being killed in the name of cow slaughter. This injustice should be protested not just by Muslims, but by the entire nation. All communities should unite to raise their voices against atrocities committed against any religion.”
On the protests at Jantar Mantar and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s reaction, Rajput said, “Resignations are being demanded, so Pradhan will naturally be agitated. He should feel ashamed to face the public. After the NEET paper leak, he should have resigned on moral grounds, but he clings to his position.”
