New Delhi, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Iran’s President Masoud Pejashkian attended the BRICS Business Forum 2026 in New Delhi on September 11, ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit scheduled for September 12. During his address, Pejashkian expressed gratitude to the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hosting the meeting and for their efforts to strengthen BRICS cooperation.
Photos from the meeting showed Prime Minister Modi interacting with the Iranian delegation, which included Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi. Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, were also present.
In his speech, Pejashkian noted the critical state of the world, marked by geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain disruptions, and the increasing use of economic tools for political pressure. He posed a crucial question about how BRICS can respond to these challenges.
