Lucknow, June 24: A tragic fire incident at a coaching center in Lucknow has left the entire state in mourning, claiming the lives of several innocent students. In a sensitive gesture, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, has announced that he will not celebrate his birthday on June 25. He stated that it is inappropriate to celebrate personal milestones when many families are grieving the unbearable loss of their children.
Pathak dedicated his birthday to the memory of the deceased children and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He shared on his social media platform, X, that the devastating fire at the coaching center has deeply disturbed him. The untimely deaths of numerous young children have filled the state with sorrow and pain.
He emphasized that celebrating his birthday is not fitting when so many families have lost their lights. With profound empathy and grief, he made the decision to forgo his birthday celebration, dedicating the day to honoring the memory of the innocent children and extending his condolences to their grieving families.
Pathak also prayed to Lord Shri Hari to grant a place to the departed children in his divine abode, to provide strength to the mourning families to bear this immense sorrow, and to wish for the swift recovery of the injured.
It is noteworthy that the horrific fire in a multi-story building in the Aliganj area of Lucknow has shaken the entire state. The incident resulted in the tragic deaths of 15 children, while five others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in various hospitals. Preliminary investigations revealed that a pet shop was operating on the ground floor, while a gaming zone was located on the upper floors. A detailed inquiry into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
Under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to inspect the site and has also interacted with the injured and their families at the hospitals. Investigating agencies are thoroughly examining all aspects, including safety standards, building legality, and potential negligence.
