
Jabalpur, June 22: A tragic road accident occurred on Monday in the Barela police station area of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. Reports indicate that one person has died, while several others have sustained injuries.
According to sources, a truck collided head-on with an Ertiga car in front of Manglayatan College. The impact was severe, resulting in the death of one individual and injuring five others. The injured have been transported to a hospital for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Sharma, a resident of Sidhi. The collision was so intense that the car was left badly damaged.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived at the scene and promptly took the injured to the hospital. They have also taken possession of the deceased’s body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the causes of the accident.
According to the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Jabalpur, necessary legal actions are underway, and the investigation is ongoing. However, the exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
In another incident, a pickup truck carrying laborers collided with a truck on the Chhindwara-Betul National Highway. This accident resulted in six fatalities, with 20 others injured.
Civil Surgeon Sushil Dubey confirmed to reporters that five people died at the scene, including three women and two men. It was reported that one individual later succumbed to injuries in the hospital, bringing the total death toll to six.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed sorrow over the incidents and announced financial assistance of ₹4 lakh for the deceased’s families, ₹1 lakh for those seriously injured, and ₹50,000 for other injured individuals.
