New Delhi, August 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute on Friday to all citizens who contributed significantly to the nation’s progress after enduring the horrific period of partition.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, he stated, “Today we observe ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.’ We remember the courage of those affected by the partition. This was a historical period that devastated countless lives, uprooted families, and caused immense suffering.”
PM Modi further emphasized, “Despite these hardships, people rebuilt their lives from scratch, turning challenges into achievements and making substantial contributions to the nation’s progress. Their life journeys remind us of the strength of human resilience.”
He expressed hope that this day would reinforce our commitment to maintaining harmony and brotherhood in the country, urging everyone to work together towards building a ‘Developed India.’
In another post, PM Modi honored all citizens who emerged from that dreadful era and contributed to the nation’s advancement. He highlighted their courage and strength, demonstrating how resolve can triumph even in adverse circumstances. “Let us further empower the spirit of goodwill and unity,” he stated.
On this occasion, he also shared a ‘Sanskrit Subhashitam,’ writing, “Through hard work, various arts and skills are developed. Those who only talk about the future will never achieve it.”
The Sanskrit verse emphasizes that success is paved through diligence, effort, and perseverance. It encourages individuals not to rely solely on fate but to pursue their goals with courage and continuous effort, as hard work shapes destiny.
