Tragic Collision in Indore Claims Four Lives, Several Injured

Indore, April 6: A tragic accident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left over six others seriously injured. The incident occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM on the Indore-Nemawar Road.

According to police reports, the victims were returning to Indore after attending a wedding in the neighboring district of Dewas when their multi-utility vehicle (MUV) collided with the rear of a truck. Initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused by the high speed of the MUV. The impact was so severe that three occupants of the MUV died at the scene, while one critically injured person succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

Authorities indicated that excessive speed and sudden braking were the primary factors contributing to this unfortunate event. Preliminary findings revealed that the truck driver attempted to overtake another vehicle but braked abruptly upon noticing an oncoming vehicle. Meanwhile, the speeding MUV crashed into the back of the truck. The driver of the trailing car could not brake in time, resulting in a violent collision. The deceased have been identified as Irfan (24), Aris (20), Farhan (19), and Arfad (23).

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rupesh Dwivedi stated that a police team arrived at the scene promptly. The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment. The truck driver has been detained for questioning.

Following the incident, the families of the deceased staged a protest by blocking the road in front of the Khudail police station. However, police managed to control the situation.
