Saharanpur, April 14: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has described the Delhi-Bagpat-Saharanpur-Dehradun Economic Corridor as a transformative project for the economy of Western Uttar Pradesh. He stated that this new corridor will significantly reduce travel time between Saharanpur, Delhi, and Dehradun. The CM expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating this corridor, marking it as a historic moment for the state’s development.
He emphasized that the corridor will not only facilitate smoother transportation but will also play a crucial role in connecting Saharanpur’s woodwork, Meerut’s sports goods, and regional agricultural products to global markets via the national capital. This initiative embodies the ‘double engine’ government’s vision for industrial growth, investment, and job creation in the region.
CM Yogi noted that the inauguration of the corridor by Prime Minister Modi is a significant step towards the state’s progress. He congratulated the residents of all districts benefiting from this project and thanked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and NHAI officials for their efforts. The completion of this economic corridor will enhance connectivity and accelerate economic development in the region.
The CM highlighted that Saharanpur’s woodwork, along with various products from Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, and Bagpat, will receive a new impetus through this corridor. Meerut is known as a hub for sports goods manufacturing, and the area is home to hardworking farmers. The government is promoting the production of sugarcane, fruits, vegetables, and various food grains in this region. The economic corridor will serve as an excellent medium to bring these products to global markets via the national capital. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India is establishing a model of development, good governance, and service, which is evident through this corridor.
CM Yogi remarked that today is a significant occasion for all, coinciding with the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution who laid the foundation for a strong India by granting equal rights to every citizen, regardless of caste, creed, or gender. Expressing gratitude to Baba Saheb, the Prime Minister has initiated the construction of ‘Panchteerth’ across the country. Inspired by him, our government has also decided to provide necessary funds to complete boundary walls or roofs for statues of social justice pioneers like Dr. Ambedkar and others.
The CM stated that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a new center for security, good governance, infrastructure, employment, and investment. The strength of the ‘double engine’ government is clearly visible today. Whether in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, or Delhi, there is now no hesitation in advancing major infrastructure projects. A university named after Maa Shakumbhari has been established in Saharanpur, and an airport with a civil terminal is under construction in Sarawa. For youth aspiring to build careers in films, the film city in Jewar is progressing rapidly, providing a robust platform to showcase their talents.
He noted that when development occurs, its impact is clearly visible. He observed the grandeur of the Maa Shakumbhari corridor during his recent inspection before Navratri. Such progress is only possible with a government that preserves heritage while relentlessly advancing development initiatives. Those who divide society based on caste or family ties cannot think of development.
CM Yogi mentioned that the government has directed the development of robust industrial and housing clusters in Saharanpur, Meerut, and Bagpat, which will create large-scale employment opportunities. Agricultural products from this region will not only reach the capital cities of Lucknow and Delhi but will also connect to global markets via the Ganga Expressway, ensuring better prices for our farmers.
On this auspicious day of Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary, the residents of Saharanpur and Western Uttar Pradesh are receiving this corridor through the Prime Minister’s efforts. Previously, this route was extremely difficult, often blocked, especially during the rainy season, preventing people from reaching Dehradun. Today, we gather here to express our gratitude to the Prime Minister. The ‘double engine’ government will continue to advance development and heritage preservation without pause or fatigue.
