Major Fire Erupts in Noida Factory, 32 Hospitalized Amid Night Shift Chaos

Noida, March 12: A massive fire broke out early Thursday morning at an electronic meter manufacturing factory located in Sector 4 of Noida, causing panic among the workers. The incident led to a stampede, resulting in multiple injuries.

So far, approximately 32 individuals have been hospitalized, with several in critical condition requiring ICU care, while others are being treated in the general ward. At the time of the fire, around 200 to 250 employees were working the night shift. The sudden outbreak of flames filled the premises with smoke, making it difficult for employees to breathe.

Many suffered from smoke inhalation and were rushed to the hospital in serious condition. Additionally, injuries occurred due to falls and collisions during the chaotic evacuation. Fire brigade teams arrived promptly and initiated rescue operations. Over 30 fire tenders, foam tenders, and hydraulic platforms were deployed to control the blaze.

Firefighters broke windows to rescue trapped employees from various locations within the factory and transported them to the district hospital for treatment. Joint Commissioner of Police Rajiv Narayan Mishra visited the hospital to assess the situation and speak with the injured. He confirmed that the fire broke out in a factory where electronic meters are produced.

The fire department acted swiftly to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of the workers. They reported that the smoke was dense, causing many to experience suffocation. As of now, more than two dozen individuals have been admitted to the hospital. Some sustained minor injuries, while others were hurt during the stampede.

Preliminary reports indicate that all individuals are currently out of danger. Police and administrative teams have contacted the factory owner and employees, and there are no further reports of anyone trapped inside. The fire department is still working to completely extinguish the fire and conduct cooling operations. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
