TMC Leader Claims Strong Performance in West Bengal Elections, Predicts Fourth Term for Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, April 25: Kunal Ghosh, a leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), asserted on Saturday that the party performed exceptionally well in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections. He expressed confidence that TMC will maintain its power in the state.

Ghosh stated, “The BJP has been severely weakened in the first phase of voting. They have lost. Under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, our government is set to secure a fourth term. We clearly predict that TMC will win between 125 to 135 seats out of the 152 that went to the polls. BJP leaders are making desperate statements as they understand the situation.”

He further added, “We gained advantages from all sides in the first phase. The vote percentage for TMC will increase in these constituencies, widening the gap between our winners and losers, and boosting our seat count.”

Ghosh continued, “We are on the verge of forming our government for the fourth time. New records will be set in the second phase. We urge the people of West Bengal, especially mothers and sisters, to step out of their homes and vote in the second phase just as they did in the first, to further increase voter turnout.”

He also mentioned, “Many outsiders are coming to Bengal for the elections. While it is common for tourists to visit Bengal, many are here to execute a conspiracy on polling day.”

Ghosh remarked, “Suvendu Adhikari is currently under immense pressure, as he is likely to lose in Nandigram. He has already lost there and is also expected to lose in Bhawanipur. The future of BJP leaders in Bengal is uncertain, as TMC is winning with a significant majority and a large number of seats.”

He criticized BJP leaders, stating that Amit Shah uses derogatory terms for Mamata, while Himanta Biswa Sarma raises issues of communism and attempts to divide communities along Hindu-Muslim lines. “BJP is panicking, which is why they are fabricating narratives of victory. In 2027, BJP will face defeat in Uttar Pradesh, and by 2029, all of India will witness a ‘change.’ Their vengeful attitude towards Bengal is evident, as they do not assist our state during natural disasters, only aiding states governed by them. We are now waiting for attacks on Bengal, armed with Rafale jets and tanks,” he concluded.
