Lucknow, June 26: The Mohanlalganj police in Uttar Pradesh‘s Lucknow have arrested three notorious individuals involved in a fraudulent land grab worth millions. The suspects were taken into custody for illegally seizing land through forged documents.
The trio is accused of defrauding a woman out of a significant sum of money by creating counterfeit documents. They allegedly executed a fraudulent deed for approximately ₹9.91 lakh, claiming ownership of the land. Investigations revealed that the documents and ownership records were indeed fake.
The main accused, along with the other two, was apprehended at their residences. Charges of fraud, forgery, and criminal conspiracy have been filed against them. All three have been presented in court and are now in judicial custody. The police continue to pursue further investigations related to this case.
In a related incident, another case emerged in Lucknow where the Mahigwan police and cyber cell collaborated to dismantle an inter-district gang involved in cyber fraud, arresting five additional suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ram Swarup, Amit Kumar, Subhash alias Satish alias Chhotu, Puttilal, and Raju Rawat. During the search, police recovered 11 Android phones, three keypad mobiles, ₹8,358 in cash, bank cards, Aadhaar, PAN cards, and SIM cards from their possession.
Additionally, the police seized a Swift Dzire car and a Splendor motorcycle used in the commission of the crimes. The suspects primarily targeted crowded areas, stealing mobile phones and committing fraud via UPI transactions. During interrogation, they confessed to defrauding approximately ₹8.19 lakh in Mahigwan and BKT.
The police have initiated formal proceedings against all arrested individuals in court.
