New Delhi, August 28: Congress leader Danish Ali has expressed his views on several pressing issues. He commented on the potential bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the recent floods in Nepal, and statements made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Regarding the Modi-Putin meeting, Ali questioned the central government’s foreign policy. He stated, “Is there any country with which PM Modi has not engaged in bilateral talks and received the highest honors? But what is our foreign policy? They change their stance under pressure from anyone. If the U.S. says to buy oil, we start buying it. If they say don’t buy, we stop. This is not how foreign policy works. The policy during Jawaharlal Nehru’s time continued until Manmohan Singh’s government. But they have come and destroyed it.”
In response to the BJP’s creation of a website named ‘Echo of Lies’ countering Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Echo of Students’ initiative, Ali remarked that it reflects a desperate attempt. He said, “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Echo of Students’ program is continuously succeeding. He has awakened the students and youth of the country; they are on the streets questioning the government. That’s why the BJP is panicking.”
On the statements made by New York Mayor Jumaane Williams regarding RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s program, Ali responded positively, saying, “This is actually a good thing. The world is learning what kind of organization the RSS is. The ideology that led to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination is linked to Nathuram Godse and the RSS. The world is becoming aware of what this organization is about. That’s why there is opposition; this happens in every democratic country.”
Ali also expressed his sorrow over the sudden floods in Nepal, calling it a heartbreaking incident. He stated, “This is a national disaster. At this time, the entire sentiment of India is with Nepal, and many of our people have been affected. The Indian government is closely monitoring the situation and providing every possible assistance to Nepal in rescue efforts.”
