Tensions in India Alliance and Madrasah Survey in Bengal: Insights from Shiv Sena Spokesperson Krishna Hegde

Mumbai, June 7: Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde addressed several pressing issues on Sunday, including the survey of madrasahs in West Bengal, the investigation of Khan Global Coaching in Patna, demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and ongoing tensions within the India alliance.

Regarding the madrasah survey in West Bengal, Hegde stated that the state government has the right to know what activities are taking place in recognized institutions. He noted that a significant number of madrasahs have been established during Mamata Banerjee‘s tenure. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that only education is being provided. The district administration has been directed to investigate and verify the curriculum and activities at these madrasahs. The West Bengal government will make further decisions based on the district administration’s report.

On the investigation into Khan Global Coaching in Patna, Hegde raised concerns about the building’s safety measures and fire compliance standards. He mentioned that there are reports indicating that a safety audit for the coaching institute’s building has not been conducted, and some irregularities have been found. The municipal corporation has issued a notice to Khan Sir, seeking clarification on fire compliance issues. Further action will be taken after receiving a response. Additionally, he discussed a recent alleged firing incident involving Khan Sir’s acquaintances and opponents, which is currently under police investigation.

In response to demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Hegde defended him, stating that efforts are ongoing to improve the education system. He emphasized that Pradhan is committed to addressing deficiencies in the education framework. Investigations into incidents such as exam paper leaks are underway, and arrests have been made. Pradhan is also dedicated to implementing necessary reforms within the education ministry.

Hegde also criticized the Congress party regarding alleged differences within the India alliance. He claimed that the DMK, which has been a long-time ally of Congress, is frustrated with the party’s opportunistic behavior. Decisions made by Congress in Tamil Nadu and other states have led to discontent among coalition partners.

He asserted that the DMK will not participate in the upcoming India alliance meeting, and there is growing dissatisfaction among coalition partners regarding Rajya Sabha candidates in Jharkhand. Hegde indicated that signs of a rift within the India alliance are becoming evident. While Congress forms alliances with partners, it simultaneously prioritizes its political interests in various states, a situation that other alliance members are beginning to recognize.
