New Delhi, July 29: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday. The discussion focused on several critical issues related to Ukraine’s security, peace efforts, and future diplomatic talks.
Zelensky shared on the social media platform X, “I had a productive meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. Thank you for the work we are doing together to save lives in Ukraine and move towards peace. First, I expressed my condolences to President Trump on the passing of Lindsey Graham, a true friend of Ukraine.”
In his post, Zelensky mentioned, “The President and I also discussed licensing for the production of Patriot interceptors and other helpful suggestions. We talked about diplomacy as well. It is essential to accelerate dialogue and diplomatic efforts again. Our teams will outline the next steps for further discussions. I am grateful for America’s strong support.”
In another post, Zelensky provided updates on his meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. They exchanged views on Russia’s military and economic situation, Ukraine’s security needs, and preparations for significant diplomatic meetings in August.
He stated on X, “In my meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, we discussed our meetings in the U.S. and the current diplomatic opportunities. It is clear that Russia is suffering heavy losses on the battlefield, and its economic situation continues to worsen. Alex mentioned our successes through long-range impactful sanctions.”
Zelensky emphasized that every effort is being made to enhance the safety of the Ukrainian people from Russian attacks. He expressed gratitude to Alex for understanding their needs so well. The demand for missiles for the Patriot missile defense system is indeed growing every day.
He concluded by noting that discussions on diplomacy are ongoing, with preparations for important meetings in August underway.
